
Quick notes for using SerialTran35

To UPLOAD software to box:

1. You need a RS232 serial cross-over (Laplink) cable to connect PC to the Receiver.

2. To update the box with a new set of files, connect up serial cable and switch on the reciever WITH THE FRONT PANEL CH- key pressed.
LED display will display 'DEST'. Power off and repeat until it does, or check with a TV on the scart if no display.

3. Unzip SerialTran35.zip into a convenient directory, also the update files.

4. Double click serialtran35.exe, then Options/setup to define the reqd serial com port.

5. Click the Upload button.

6. Browse to the directory with the data files. Click on your update file (*.dat where * is filename). Please note that you should have also next files in the same directory if you use *.dat file: *.ur1, *.ur2, *.ur3, *.ur4, *.ur5.

7. Start the transfer going - should see progress bars indicating download OK.
If this does not occur, then you may need to check the com port setting, cable etc.

NB. If you are just updating the box with a .urt file, then in 6) above, change the files of type to *.urt.

To DOWNLOAD software from box:

2. To download software from box, connect up serial cable and switch on the reciever WITH THE FRONT PANEL CH+ key pressed.
LED display will display 'COPY'. Power off and repeat until it does, or check with a TV on the scart if no display.

3. Unzip SerialTran35.zip into a convenient directory, also the update files.

4. Double click serialtran35.exe, then Options/setup to define the reqd serial com port.

5. Click the Download button.

6. Browse to the directory and enter file name. Please note that SerialTran35 creates next files in directory *.dat, *.ur1, *.ur2, *.ur3, *.ur4, *.ur5.

7. Start the transfer going - should see progress bars indicating download OK.
If this does not occur, then you may need to check the com port setting, cable etc.

WARNING: 

Please be sure that you do not receive ERROR message informing about LOST PACKETS.
